4. Contacting Reporters

350.org staff will be pitching national media outlets, but we’ll need your help to reach local papers, TV stations, blogs and radio shows. It’s easier then you probably think to develop your own contact list for local reporters who might be interested in your story. First do a quick online search to see who at your local outlets has written stories on the US Chamber or similar topics. Then, call up the outlet, explain what you are doing, and ask who you should speak with about the story. Once you get a reporter on the phone, you can work with them to write up a story on the campaign.
